General Newbigging Information

How to book

  1. Contact newbigging@girlguidingdundee.org.uk to check the availability of the house, campsite or wigwams

  2. Complete the booking form and pay the non-refundable deposit

  3. We will confirm receipt of your deposit and send you more information

  4. We will contact you in the week before arrival with the key codes you need

  5. Payment should be calculated using our invoice and sent within 7 days of the end of your stay

What to bring - Holiday house

 

  • Bedding - all the beds are single and the mattresses have protectors but for hygiene reasons (and comfort) they must be covered.  There is no bed linen available for hire. Each person will need:

    • Bottom Sheet

    • Pillow & Pillowcase

    • Sleeping Bag or Covered Duvet

  • £2 and £1 coins for the electric meters in the kitchen which power the sockets and heating in that part of the house.  

  • £1 coins only for heating and sockets in the dormitories.  Can be up to £60 required in winter months.  One meter uses 2017 £1 coins only and is labelled.

  • Tablets or liquid for the dishwasher and washing machine.  

  • First aid equipment

  • Tea towels/dish cloths/oven gloves/hand towels for kitchen and bathrooms

  • Food Storage Containers (plastic boxes and tins)

  • Toilet rolls & non-antibacterial handwash/soap (antibacterial is bad for our septic tank). There are six toilets, plus you’ll need soap for the kitchen - please take them home afterwards.

  • Cleaning materials (please use septic tank friendly products)

  • Small bin bags for sanitary bins

  • Black bags for rubbish, small bags for bedroom bins

  • Drawing pins for noticeboards in hall

  • Blutak for any signs on paintwork

  • The departure checklist that we will send you

What to bring - Campsite/wigwams

 

  • First aid equipment

  • Tea towels/dish cloths/oven gloves

  • Hand towels for bathrooms

  • Food Storage Containers (plastic boxes and tins)

  • Toilet rolls & non-antibacterial handwash/soap (antibacterial is bad for our septic tank). There are four toilets, plus you’ll need soap for the sink in the wet weather shelter- please take them home afterwards.

  • Cleaning materials (please use septic tank friendly products)

  • Small bin bags for sanitary bins

  • Black bags for rubbish, small bags for bedroom bins

  • The departure checklist that we will send you
