Brownie keeps silence for Food Bank

Broughty Ferry Brownie, Isla Fyffe, loves earning badges, and for her latest one, she kept silent for 24 hours raising money for the Dundee Food Bank.

To boost her appeal, she wrote to her neighbours asking for food donations, and was delighted with their contributions. She then took the £75 she raised to Asda, and chose items to pass on.

Gaining her Charities badge, Isla said "I enjoyed working on this badge, staying quiet was difficult, but a lot easier than not having enough to eat. At school we collect for the food bank and I wanted to do more".

Lesley Blyth, leader of 65th B St Aidan's Brownies said, "Isla comes in nearly every week with a new badge done, she's worked hard on all the challenges, and we're delighted to see her raising money for other people too".

Together with the other girls in her unit, Isla is looking forward to a summer term of fun activities including celebrating the Queen's Jubilee, a Pack Holiday and lots of outdoor exciting ventures.
