In 2025 we’d like to raise the profile of Girlguiding in Dundee by taking part in two parkrun events over Thinking Day weekend (22 and 23 February). As with the Joe Wickes parkrun a few years ago, this is for you and our young members to attend with families and friends, so no need for Girlguiding paperwork.
There is a choice of walking, jogging or running 5km in Camperdown Park on Saturday 22nd Feb or 2km at Baxter Park junior parkun at Sunday 23rd Feb. Both events start around 9.30am, and are also keen to have people volunteer as marshalls and in other roles.
More information about Camperdown parkrun and Baxter Park junior parkrun.
In a 5km parkrun, young people aged 10 and under need to be within arm's reach of a responsible adult. Everyone who has registered with parkrun gets a time or volunteer credit.
In a 2km parkrun, young people age 4-14 can take part and get a time, their adult can see them at all times, so doesn't need to take part. Adults can gain volunteer credits for helping.
Everyone who wants to take part should:
register with parkrun (if they haven’t done that before),
let us know they are coming (and to which event) using this form: https://bit.ly/ggd-parkrun24
contact the relevant parkrun if you wish to take on a volunteering role
